Soranzo Deck

Soranzo Deck, Site tokens provided for the Toys for Tots Tournament, A.S. 54 (November 16th 2019.) These are Block printed cards inspired by 15th century Italian playing cards. Traditionally they would have been printed from carved wooden blocks, but due to my time constraints I chose to use linoleum. It carves much quicker and is more predictable.

Suits: Cups, Swords, Batons, and Coins. These suits do translate to American suits. Cups=Hearts, Swords=Spades, Batons=Clubs, Coins=Diamonds

14 cards in each suit: King (K), Queen (Q), Knight (C), Page (P), 10 through 1(A)

This deck was designed to represent the last four reigns of Calontir, with the face cards depicting members of those reigns.

Swords: K-Anton Rhaghelan, Q -Yseult de Michel, C- Marius Lucian Fidelis Artifex, P- Isengrim Sleggja

Cups: K- Donngal Eriksson Q- Catalina de Arazuri C-Robert Brockman P- Gabriella von Fredrichstahl

Coins: K- Caius Equitius Rectus Xrexis Q- BelAnna de Rouge de Anjou C- Mar i Miklagardi P- Andromir Vukovic

Baton: K- Bataciqan-nu Ko’un Ashir Q- Ashland de Mumford C-Killian O’Connaill P-Ishmala bint Yuh

I plan to do another deck soon in intaglio.
